Office massage: what the company actually gets

Not a nice-to-have perk but a tool measurable in missed days and in how fast a team burns out.

When a company first hears about massage at work, the reaction is usually the same: pleasant, but surely it is entertainment. In practice it is the most visible of the affordable employee wellbeing programmes — because the effect is felt the same day rather than next quarter.

What happens in 15 minutes

The format is simple: the therapist arrives with their own equipment, the employee sits down in work clothes, no oils. Head, neck and shoulder area — exactly where the tension of eight hours in front of a monitor collects. The 20 minute format adds the thoracic back and arms, which matters for people who type all day.

What the business gets

  • Fewer missed days. A significant share of office sick leave is not infection but back and neck pain and stress-related conditions.
  • Afternoon productivity. Released tension restores concentration exactly where it normally drops.
  • Retention. Care an employee physically feels does more for loyalty than another line in the benefits package.
  • Atmosphere. A massage day is one of the rare corporate activities nobody declines and nobody has to be enthusiastic about.

How to organise it

You need a quiet room and a power socket. We agree the schedule: how many people, in what order, at what interval. With the 15 minute format one therapist covers roughly 20–24 people in a working day. For a large team we arrange several days or bring a second therapist.

Then there is a choice: a one-off event (a wellbeing day, the end of a hard project, a team-building day) or a regular massage day weekly or monthly. The regular format delivers noticeably more — the effect accumulates.

We work in Larnaca and across Cyprus. To discuss a format for your team, message us on Telegram or by email.
